Fitting together with a tongue and groove joint, our Strip floors are generally of a solid timber or a laminated product made by bonding together layers of timber. Once your Astoria floor has been laid it is then sanded down and finished. There are still a number of excellent flooring products, including parquetry, pre-finished floors and 'floating' flooring systems that are not covered in our steps.

THE STRIP FLOORING PROCESS
Strip Flooring is available in a variety of species colours, profiles, cover widths and soft or hard timbers. Prior to the floor being finished a number of steps need to be taken to deliver your new Strip Floor the with utmost professional standard in both appearance and performance.
Each stage is of equal importance and Astoria Floors takes great care during every stage to deliever the highest quality flooring.
- Manufacture - Done via a saw mill, however rough swan boards may be machined to a finish
- Distribution - Purchased by the Astoria Floors at timber merchants
- Specification - Owners, designers, architects and our qualified Astoria Floors personel will specify the amount and the type of product to be installed
- Sub-floor - Joists, Bearers or slabs are provided by builders to which the floor is later laid.
- Installation - Qualified specialist floor installers and carpenters will install the floor over the builder's sub-floor.
- Sanding and Finishing - Professional floor sanders and finishers will complete the final touches to the floor.
